I. Hazard Analysis:

A. At approximately 8:36 AM on March 7, 2008 a tornado, spawned by a severe thunderstorm impacted coastal Taylor County. The community of Keaton Beach sustained the majority of storm damage.

B. No confused deaths and 1 minor injury reported in Taylor County due to the storm. One residence was completely destroyed, 3 others sustained major damage. An additional 23 structures sustained varying degrees of damage, mostly to the roofs.

C. Initally, approximately 150 homes were without power. Power has now been restored to the undamaged structures.

II Protective Areas:

A. Taylor County Sheriff's Office:Taylor County Sheriff's Office will be conducting security patrols of Keaton Beach Community throughout the weekend.

B. Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross:

The Red Cross is on stand-by status if needed.

C. Tri-Count Electric:

As of 19:00EST, Tri-County Electric has completed power restoration to all undamaged structures.

D. Taylor County Board of County Commissioners.

At 16:00 the Taylor County B.C.C. met to declare a state of local emergency.
