BIOGRAPHY
Commissioner Houck was born and raised in Taylor County; His family goes back five generation, His Grandfather and Uncle both served as county commissioners in the same district. His Mother was raised on the Coast of Taylor County; His Father was a Cattleman, Farmer and owned a small grocery store.
He Graduated from Taylor County High School in 1975 and attended North Florida Junior College from 1976 to 1978.
He is married to Dianne Meredith, a Nurse Anesthetist.
He has two sons ages 24 and 21, The oldest Graduated from the University Of Florida with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and the youngest is attending SantaFe Community College in Gainesville, Fl.
He is employed as a “Vibration Analyst” at Buckeye Technologies in Perry, Fl and has been employed there for the past 26+ years.
He is an active member of Blue Creek Baptist Church; serving as the “Properties Manager and on the Stewardship Council”. Some of His hobbies are Off Shore Fishing, Scuba Diving/Spear fishing and Hunting
Commissioner Houck was elected to the Taylor County Commission in November 2009.
