About Us
The Taylor County Road Department is staffed by 22 Road Maintenance Technicians and Heavy Equipment Operators, 2 Mechanics, 1 Office Manager, 1 Road Superintendent and 1 Director. We have 5 motor graders, 1 track hoe, 1 gradall, 2 dozier's, 7 dump trucks, 3 farm/mowing tractors, 1 small back hoe, 1 vibratory compactor, and 1 soil mixer, with which to perform the 9 major functions of Public Works.
The 9 major functions as performed by the Road Department are: north and south routine road grading, road repair and maintenance, turnoff maintenance, mowing/brush trimming, drainage maintenance, bridge maintenance, sign maintenance, maintenance on (6) parks, along with over seeing the maintenance on (18) cemeteries throughout the county.
