SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCES: Septic tank permits are required for all single-family residences.  Residences designed to use an existing septic tank must have a septic tank permit if the existing tank has been in use more than 3 years without inspection.

ADDITIONS: Additions greater than 300 square feet in size that include bedrooms require a septic tank permit before a Building Permit will be issued.


MOBILE HOME: Septic tank permits are required for all mobile homes sited or replaced in Taylor County.  Replacement mobile homes designed to use an existing septic tank must have a septic tank permit if the existing tank has been in use more than 3 years without inspection.


RECREATIONAL VEHICLES: A septic tank permit, or a waste disposal contract from a recreational vehicle park or waste disposal center is required before a recreational vehicle power pole permit will be issued.


COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS: A septic tank permit is required for all commercial buildings that provide private rest rooms, public rest rooms, or cooking equipment.
