Our Mission Statement:

The Taylor County Veteran Services Office assists residents who served honorably in the Armed Services of the United States to obtain any and all benefits for which they may be eligible.

The County offers two programs to our veterans, one being a weekly shuttle service to the VA Hospital in Lake City, Florida. The shuttle leaves on Tuesdays from the Taylor Administrative Complex located at 201 E. Green Street. at 7:30 a.m. There is also a shuttle service available in Lake City to travel on to Gainesville Veteran's Medical Facilities if so needed.

There is no cost for veteran's using the shuttle service but reservations must be made to ride the shuttle by 12:00 noon on the Monday before or Friday at noon if Monday is a legal holiday. If a veteran does not have transportation to the pick up site. Reservations may be made by calling:

The shuttle returns to the Administrative Complex pick up site late afternoon.

The second program is the Veteran's grant for active duty military personnel during a named conflict or national emergency. A grant may be applied for to have the County pay a portion of the taylor County Ad Valorem property taxes on the military person's owner-occupied residence during their service period in the conflict or emergency period. If a residence is not owned, active duty military personnel may also apply for a $600.00 grant to assist their family with expenses during their service during period of conflict.
